National Statistics Missouri Statistics For more statistics on crime, visit MoVA I can do something -Helen Keller Victim Services is here to provide assistance, including referrals, advocacy, and support to victims of violent crimes. Victim Services is a not for profit organization that operates on funding from a public safety grant. Victim Services provides emotional support and understanding. Victim Services may provide transportation to court, medical facilities or a safe shelter if no other transportation for the victim is available. Victim Services provides assistance for victims filing for Crime Victim Compensation for those who may be eligible for this resource. Victim Services helps victims to understand the criminal justice system. Victim Services may provide information to victims regarding the status of their case. Victim Services may provide a court companion for those victims who are uncomfortable in the courtroom. Victim Services may provide assistance in preparing a Victim Impact Statement. Victim's SectionThe trauma of a violent crime is devastating to individuals, families and friends and neighbors. You need not be alone during this time in your search for understanding, support, answers and help. If you become a victim of a violent crime report it immediately to your local law officials. Please try to remain calm as you make your report so that you may accurately describe the situation. If you are being threatened report it immediately to your local police department or sheriff's department. You may ask for the services of a Victim Advocate at any point during your ordeal from the time that you first report a violent crime throughout the entire process of the court proceedings. Services
