GOIN SafetyNET: Sender Policy Framework (SPF)
GOIN SPF News:
GOIN has currently implemented the first step in SPF, a new spam fighting technology. GOIN is now only publishing Sender Policy Framework (SPF) records
for @getgoin.net email. GOIN will soon publish SPF records for all customer domains and begin filtering incoming mail based on SPF technology.
What is SPF?
SPF fights email address forgery and makes it easier to identify spams, worms, and viruses.
Domain owners identify sending mail servers in DNS.
SMTP receivers verify the envelope sender address against this information, and can distinguish legitimate mail from spam before any message data is transmitted.
Does SPF affect Customer Privacy?
Publishing SPF records for spam filtering purposes does not affect customer privacy. SPF records only
detail if recieved email addresses by other servers have been forged.
